Crossroads Celebrates
We have a lot to celebrate at Crossroads!
Congratulations to our very own Jennifer Bentley, Melissa Rightmire, and Andy Marrufo for their recent accomplishments announced at the District Assembly this year!
We extend a warm welcome to the newly elected Arizona District’s Superintendent, Rev. Dr Brad Estep!
With much love, after eleven years, Crossroads says farewell to Arizona’s Retiring District Superintendent Pastor Doug Pierce, and his wife, Becky.
They have faithfully served in this role and will be greatly missed.
Rev. Dr. Brad Estep has been elected the new Arizona Nazarene District Superintendant. This was accomplished through several months of prayer and guidance by the Holy Spirit. His assignment is effective 10 June 2024.
“I am humbled to be elected to serve as the next District Superintendent of the Arizona District… In every way, I will do my very best, with the help of the Spirit, to honor Christ and serve his kingdom purposes.”
Dr. Estep holds a Doctorate of Philosophy and a Master of Theology (1992) from Union Theological Seminary, Virginia; a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary (1991); and an Undergraduate degree from Bethany Nazarene College, Oklahoma.
From 1993 to 2000, Dr Estep served at Richmond Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene, Virginia. Moving to Florida In 2000, he pastored St. Petersburg Victory Church of the Nazarene through 2002. He pastored at Winter Haven First Church of the Nazarene, Florida from 2002 to 2008. He accepted a call to Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene, Missouri in 2008. Arriving in Arizona in 2017 he became senior pastor of Sun City Church of the Nazarene.
Dr. Estep served as the Arizona district secretary since 2020.
Three Crossroads pastors took a step forward in their call to ministry on May 10th, 2024 during the annual Arizona District Assembly.
Andy Marrufo and Jennifer Bentley were granted their Arizona district ministerial license.
Melissa Rightmire completed her required studies and was ordained as an elder in the Church of The Nazarene.
Read more about their call to ministry below.
“God called me into ministry during a challenging time when my parents separated, causing me to lose sight of who God is and how He works, despite being a lifelong churchgoer. One summer at youth camp, after a powerful message from the speaker, I felt an overwhelming sense that God was calling me to serve Him in a greater capacity. This experience marked a turning point in my faith journey, as I committed my life to God and found renewed purpose and passion for ministry.”
“I received a call to full-time Ministry at the age of 16. I am finally able to pursue that call and look forward to serving you here at Crossroads Nazarene.”
“It was never my goal to become ordained but in 2016 it did become a calling from God. It was delivered in such a way that I could not deny what God was asking me to do. Now that I’ve gone through what turned out to be a 6 1/2 year process, and am now ordained, my plan is to continue listening, and following whatever God says and going wherever he leads.”
